Leave Requests

The Leave Requests screen is the administrative hub for reviewing, approving, and tracking all employee requests for time off, ensuring accurate leave balances and schedule coverage.

  • Location: Access this module through the main menu path: Home \rightarrow Time & Attendance \rightarrow Leave Requests.

  • Purpose: To manage the full lifecycle of time-off requests, from submission to final approval or rejection.

  • Key Data: The list displays the Employee, the Leave Type (e.g., Sick, Vacation), the Request Date, the Start Date of the leave, the total Days requested, and the current Status (e.g., Pending, Approved, Rejected).


Step-by-Step: Creating a Manual Leave Request

  1. Start Request: Click the Plus Icon (+\text{+}) in the top right corner of the screen.

  1. Enter Data: Select the Employee, the Leave Type, the Start Date, and the number of Days (implied action).

  1. Approve/Save: Save the record, setting the status to "Approved" if the leave is confirmed (implied action).


Step-by-Step: Processing and Approving a Request

  1. Review Details: Click the action button in the Actions column next to a request to view its full details (implied action).

    • Confirm the Leave Type, Start Date, and number of Days requested.

    • Check the employee's available leave balance (implied system data).

  1. Determine Action: Based on policy, balance, and operational needs, decide whether to approve or reject the request.

  2. Update Status: Change the Status field (e.g., from "Pending" to "Approved") (implied action).

  1. Save: Click "Save" or "Approve Request" to finalize the decision.


Filtering and Searching Requests

The module provides tools to quickly locate and process specific requests:

  • Search Bar: Use the "Search records..." bar to find requests by employee name or specific keywords.

  • Employee Filter: Filter the list by specific employees or view "All Employees".

  • Leave Type Filter: Filter the list by specific Leave Types (e.g., to review only Sick Leave requests).

  • Date Range Filter: Use the From and To date fields (mm/dd/yyyy format) to review requests spanning a particular period.
