Promotions

The Promotions screen allows the HR Manager to initiate, track, and record all formal promotions, ensuring the employee's new job title and effective date are captured correctly in the system.

  • Location: Access this module through the main menu path: Home \rightarrow Employee Movements \rightarrow Promotions.

  • Purpose: To create an official, auditable log of promotions that triggers updates to the employee's profile and payroll.

  • Key Data: The main list tracks the Employee, their old Position, the Promotion Title (new job), and the Promotion Date (effective date).

Step-by-Step: Initiating a New Promotion

1. Start the Request

  • Click the Plus Icon (+\text{+}) located in the top right corner of the screen to open the promotion form.

2. Enter Employee and New Details

  • Select the Employee from the search field or drop-down menu.

  • Define the New Role: Select or type in the employee's new job title (the Promotion Title).

  • Set the Effective Date: Enter the Promotion Date to indicate when the new role and pay officially begin.

3. Finalize the Record

  • Click "Save" or "Submit" to create the promotion record.

  • The record will then appear in the Promotions list, scheduled according to its effective date.

Managing and Auditing Promotions

  • Searching: Use the "Search promotions..." bar to quickly find any record by the employee's name or new title.

  • Reviewing: Use the action button in the Actions column to view the full details of the promotion or make administrative changes.

  • System Update: On the effective Promotion Date, the system automatically updates the employee's job title in their main record within People Management.
