Payroll Configuration
The Payroll Configuration screen is used by the HR Manager or Admin to define the financial multipliers and categories that govern salary calculations, ensuring that overtime, holiday pay, and benefits are processed according to company and legal standards.
Navigating Payroll Configuration
Location: Access this module through the main menu path: Home → System Configuration → Payroll Configuration.
Purpose: To establish the base mathematical rules for compensation, including tax-related deductions and premium pay rates.
Key Data: The interface organizes payroll rules into four primary categories via the sidebar: Rates, Payroll Type, Allowances, and Deductions.
Step-by-Step: Managing Pay Rates
Review System Standards: The Rates table displays established multipliers for different work conditions, such as Ordinary work, Rest Days, and various Holidays.
Base Rate: The standard multiplier for the specific day type (e.g., 2.00 for a Legal Holiday).
OT Rate: The increased multiplier applied when an employee works overtime on that day type (e.g., 1.25 for Ordinary OT).

Create New Rate: Click the blue Plus Icon (+) in the top right to define a custom rate multiplier for unique company events or specific regional requirements.

Note on Protection: Default system rates are protected and cannot be edited or deleted to ensure compliance with baseline labor standards.

HR/Admin Focus: Financial Integrity
Allowances & Deductions: Use the corresponding sidebar tabs to define recurring items like "Housing Allowance" or "Health Insurance Deductions" that appear on employee payslips.

Payroll Type: Define the frequency of pay cycles (e.g., Monthly, Semi-Monthly) to align with the Set Salary sub-module in the main Payroll section.

Searching: Use the "Search rates..." (or category-specific) bar to quickly audit existing multipliers and ensure they reflect the most current labor laws.

Integration: These configurations directly feed into the Validate Timesheet tool, where the system automatically applies these multipliers to total hours worked to calculate gross pay.
